We host one Liberal Arts All-Comm summit every summer and several All-Comm meetings throughout the year. These events are a chance for our Communicators Community to get together and learn from one another.

The Liberal Arts All-Comm Summit is an annual event for communicators in the College of the Liberal Arts. The event is open to anyone in the college with any sort of communications responsibilities (writing, graphic design, email marketing, social media, event promotion, etc.).

9:40 a.m. | Evolution, Not Limitation—Balancing Creativity and Brand Guideline | While working within Penn State’s brand can sometimes feel challenging, these guidelines ensure our college’s design approach remains consistent with the University’s image and visual identity. Join us for a look into our design process, focusing on how we represent our college’s unique personality and brand voice while still aligning with the University’s visual presence. |
10:25 a.m. | Rebrand in Review | A lot has happened since we launched the new college website a little over a year ago. We’ll reflect on this past year and provide updates on the college and unit websites, the new events calendar, branding, social media, and more. |

11:00 a.m. | Breakout Session 1 | Option 1: Canva Hacks for Liberal Arts Get more comfortable with Canva, and start using these helpful tips, tricks, and Canva hacks to create promotional materials. We’ll also review the variety of Penn State-exclusive tools in Canva and best practices for incorporating them to elevate your materials while also making them stand out. Option 2: Web Editing Best Practices Tune in for a working session on some of the most common issues web editors experience and tips on how to avoid them. |
11:30 a.m. | Breakout Session 2 | Option 1: How to Capture Captivating Content Sharing photos and videos that compel and engage your audiences is the key to successfully driving digital communications forward. We’ll break down the content creation process into three clear phases: planning, capturing, and publishing. Elevate your online presence with content that’s not only creative, but also intentional. Option 2: Getting to the “Why” of it All Whether you’re an experienced writer or new to the field, learn how referencing Penn State’s brand storytelling framework and the College of the Liberal Arts’ content strategy can help you achieve consistent and cohesive messaging across your department, the college, and the University. Learn how to effectively communicate the “what,” the “how,” and the “why” of your stories. |
