2026 Communicator Spotlights
We’re excited to spotlight Leisa Kilby from LER and ANTH for her work. Leisa joined the College of the Liberal Arts last fall and has hit the ground running. She makes sure her units’ events are well-advertised by creating enticing flyers and digital sign graphics.
We’re excited to spotlight Jacob Rieker from Applied Linguistics for all of his work helping with the Applied Linguistics and EPPIC website redesigns. Jacob put a lot of time into researching peer sites, helping define goals, and building a really strong content doc and set of mockups that helped us hit the ground running.
We’re excited to spotlight Allison Savage from Applied Linguistics and Philosophy for hitting the ground running upon joining the Communicators Community. Allison has a keen eye for sticking to brand standards.
Shoutout to Rachael Lyon Wiley (ENGL) and Jake Nabel (CAMS) for their strong social media engagement—highlighting fall courses and actively engaging with the college’s content. Great work building momentum and visibility!

to let her know that you or someone in your office now has communication responsibilities. Shree will update the communicators spreadsheet and listserv and will schedule an intro meeting.
Resources for New Communicators
We know coming into a new role can be daunting. That’s why we put everything you need to get started all on one page.
If you haven’t already, please email Shree Chauhan to schedule your intro meeting with a Strategic Communications team member. This meeting serves as an introduction to our team and the resources we offer.
Liberal Arts All-Comm
We host one Liberal Arts All-Comm summit every summer and several All-Comm meetings throughout the year. These events are a chance for our Communicators Community to get together and learn from one another.
Governance
This page provides guidelines and expectations for content creation, management, and oversight for marketing and branding College of the Liberal Arts websites and other promotional materials at both the college and unit levels. 2025
We’d like to give a special shout-out to Audrey Chambers (Anthropology) for her help coordinating with our team and her department for the Welch Building photo and video shoots this week. (Thank you to everyone who took part in those shoots!)
We’d like to give a special shout-out to Michelle Conrad (Center for Human Evolution and Diversity) for starting her position with a successful Darwin Day Lecture last Friday. Having no prior communications or social media experience, Michelle quickly learned and adapted to new communications processes and designed creative and thoughtfully curated promotional materials. As a result, this year’s event witnessed its largest turnout. Here’s the exemplary digital sign she created to promote it. Excellent work, Michelle!
We’d like to give a special shout-out to Emmeline Wilson, doctoral student in Language Science and German Linguistics, for her work organizing and maintaining content across several of our websites, and for helping shape the content structure for the upcoming Center for Language Science website redesign. Excellent work, Emmeline!
We’d like to give a special shout-out to Maggie Day and Alison Noll (Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese) for creating a new Instagram account and sharing engaging content from their department awards ceremony, alumni networking trip, and more events from this spring semester. Wonderful work, Maggie and Alison!
As we mentioned last month, Molly has joined our team as our new web and marketing content specialist.
